Buddywalk 35
As I walk with my friends Luuk and Arthur every week (re)discovering parts of Rotterdam by foot, yesterday we explored the emptiness and scalelessness of the harbour of Rotterdam near Rozenburg. It's a lands end mainly used for big ships to enter, a linear nature area and lots of wind mills. The latter one I personally liked very much because of it's elegant shape as well as its giant scale.
The picture shown above makes clear what the scalejump is. I call it 'Hoge bomen vangen veel wind' , a dutch saying literally translated as 'high trees catches a lot of wind' which means if you are in a high position you will receive a lot of critisme. In this case it's meant to be literal....
Although the wings of a windmill are made of steel, in this picture, due to the light, it became almost translucent as the tusks of an elephant. Bizar accidental beauty.
